We are so happy you are here at MHS this year. In order to maximize your high school experience, we encourage you to get involved. We have many sports, clubs, and organizations for you to join. View the Clubs section under the Student Life section at the top of the MHS website to see what may interest you, then talk to the club sponsor for more information.

If you don't see a club that interests you, start your own! See your assistant principal for a new club form. We want you to explore your interests and passions!

ADVISORY:

Each day, students have mid-day tutoring, called Advisory. It is very important to utilize this time to get help from teachers or to work on school work.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

By the time you graduate, you will need to complete a minimum of 10 hours of community service throughout your time in high school. You may start logging these hours now. Check out the "Resources" tab to the right and select "Community Service." There, you will see some suggestions for where you could complete service hours. Be sure to print a community service form, get it signed by your non-parent supervisor, then turn the form into your counselor.

Remember, most anything that is non-paid, non-required, and takes place outside of the school day may count toward your community service requirement.

 NAVIANCE:

It's never too early to start thinking about your future. Not sure what you want to do once you graduate? Use Naviance to complete interest inventories to find out which careers match your personality and strengths. Click the "PostSecondary Planning" tab on the right to view more details on Naviance. Counselors are utilizing this tool on a regular basis via Advisory and in individual counseling meetings with students and parents.
