The Midlothian High School Panther Soccer Program continued its district play Friday night at the Roesler Athletic Complex at MHS. The Girls opened the night with an 8-0 victory over Corsicana. They are now 7-0-0 in district; 10-3-3 overall. Following the girls match, the Boys battled Corsicana up and down the field for 80 minutes, leaving with a 1-0 victory. The boys are 5-0-2 in district; 9-6-3 overall.

Congratulations to the MHS Debate team for their success this weekend.  All four of our Public Forum teams advanced to the 2nd day putting MHS with four of the top 6 teams!!  The team of David Salzar and Jace Martin finished 2nd and are qualified for Nationals!!  The team of Trevor Tobey and Jade Young finished 4th and are the 1st alternate to nationals.  The team of Caeleb Bridgins and Danna Bustos finished 5th and are the 2nd alternate to nationals!   This years topic was about Urbanization in West Africa.  

Attention Juniors- Camp RYLA is a six day leadership training camp held by the Rotary Club each summer.  This multi-day leadership program provides students who exhibit exceptional leadership qualities in their high school with an opportunity to enhance those skills working together in a teamwork environment designed to challenge them to excel. 
Juniors, if you would like to get more information or apply for this leadership camp, you can stop by the counseling center for an application.  Students who attend virtually can email their counselor for an application.  Camp RYLA scholarship applications are due to your counselor by Wednesday, March 10th.

Faith Filled Friends will have their first meeting tomorrow morning, March 2nd in the Auditorium starting at 7:45am - everyone is invited to attend.

Tryouts for Pantherette & Royal Drill Teams are this week. If you are interested, please contact Ms. Donna or Ms. Ayres ASAP for information. 

Seniors: Please log into your Naviance account to check Scholarships that are available, there are many posted with deadlines coming up soon!  Naviance is accessed through CLASSLINK on your school device.

Are you proud to be Hispanic/Latinx? Do you want to celebrate Hispanic/Latinx culture and heritage? Do you like the Hispanic/Latinx culture and want to understand it on a deeper level? Then the Hispanic Heritage Club may be for you! Mrs. Hall will be having an interest meeting and via Zoom on March 4th at 8am. Please stop by 812 for more information. All are welcome!

Attention students in AP classes: Please check your email daily for communication from Mrs. Fields regarding possible issues with your AP exam registration and/or payment. This is the last week counselors can make changes to the MHS AP exam order and we are making every effort to ensure exams are ordered for each student who wishes to take an AP exam. If you are unsure if you're registered for an AP exam, see Mrs. Fields in the counseling center.

There is a Mandatory parent/Candidate Zoom meeting tomorrow, March 2nd at 7:00. See the flyers in the cafeteria for google form to sign up or contact Ms Donna or Ms Castleberry for information.
On Wednesday, March 3rd, all junior students will be taking the SAT.  This test is being offered free of charge to all Junior students.  Taking the SAT® is a great way to find out how ready you are for college and career.  Please arrive at your designating testing room by 8:15 am.  More information will be given in your English class.
MHS will be offering the ASVAB (Armed Services Aptitude Battery) for students in 10th - 12th grade on March 9th. The ASVAB is a multiple-choice test used to determine a student's strengths in order to help them choose a career path. The ASVAB is open to all students, not just those interested in joining the military. The test will begin promptly at 8:30 am and will last approximately 3 hours and is free to take. Deadline to register is March 5th. Please visit the website, email your counselor, or stop by the Counseling Office to sign up.
Do you like Math? Academic UIL is coming up soon, if you are interested in competing in UIL Math email Mrs. Bagby or stop by room 826 for more information. There is a mental math, general math, and calculator competition.
